Group analysis of The Craze

In the video above is our media class analysing our trailer The Craze. Around the room, each person got given a certain point to focus on about our trailer and they speak about how we could have improved our production. We also received positive comments from individuals what they really liked about our trailer which was good because as a group we are proud of what we produced. The certain points they had to focus on was narrative, editing, camera and sound that we had used in The Craze.

Final Magazine front cover

Above is the magazine front cover for our trailer "The Craze". As a group we had a few ideas for the front cover, such as a picture of the antagonist attacking the protagonist so that the audience can have the first glimpse of the two characters from the film. We then decided to have a close up of the antagonist on the front cover because we wanted to tease the audience of what the clown is going to look like in the trailer. At the bottom of the magazine we have the title of the trailer "The Craze" and also a slogan "You all thought he disappeared" which is also effective because this then gets the audience more engaged with the trailer as they want to know more about the clown. There is then an exclusive on the front cover of behind the scenes of us filming the trailer so that the audience can see what happened while filming for The Craze. 

Final "The Craze" Trailer Poster

Above is the our poster for our trailer "The Craze". What we included was a screenshot from the trailer of the antagonist terrorizing the protagonist because we found this shot very effective and thought it would get the audiences attention when they saw this trailer. At the top of the poster we included one of our slogans we came up with "Behind the mask, reveals a story" which actually goes with the photo on the poster because the antagonist is wearing a mask and this is then teasing the audience about this character. In the middle we added the title of our trailer so the audience would know the name of the film. The poster credits got added so that if the audience was interested they could see what each person role was in the trailer. And finally we added the date of the film being released which is "31st October", so then the audience knows when the film is being released and most people see horrors around this time. We had all the context on a black background because it wanted to look like a horror film and it makes the poster stand out more. The text is the colour of white as this stands out well on a black background and the audience are then able to read it properly.   

Poster Credits

For the poster, I decided to make the poster credits so that at the bottom of the poster, the audience will be able to see who stars in our trailer, who did what job and when the film will be released in cinema. For me to be able to do this, I went onto Photoshop and started off with a black canvas and messing around with the text to see which one would stand out better but also which text would be effective for the poster. I used the white colour for the text so that the audience could read what had been written but also so that its clear and understandable. I wanted the text to be bold because it makes it look so appealing but also that it is for a horror poster instead of something which would be on a kids poster.

Shannon: Can't wait for mum and dad to go next week.

Sean: Yes I know it will be so good won't it!

(Transition to house)

Shannon: Sean.

Sean: What? What is it?

Shannon (Pointing to TV): Sean, this looks really serious

News Host (in studio): I am now going to pass you over to Hannah Bowyer, who is live at the scene at the Air Raid Shelter to tell you all of the latest news.

News Reporter (on location): Yes, thank you Baily I am live at the air raid shelter, where recent attacks have taken place. The public have been warned not to come near this area, as the clown was last seen here.

Clown (Towards Shannon): You can't escape now. (laughs heavily)
